Respectful Workplaces in the Arts Seeks Signatories for Performing Arts Code of Conduct
/Respectful Workplaces in the Arts (RWA) has issued a Canadian Code of Conduct for the Performing Arts, a series of guidelines to create “safer, more inclusive, respectful workplaces where artists can thrive, free from all forms of harassment, including sexual harassment, discrimination, bullying and violence.” The code was developed by and for members of the performing arts community, to reflect the realities of live performance.
Now, RWA invites performing arts organizations to show their support by adding their names as signatories. Organizations are encouraged to discuss this document internally and embrace it as a foundational value document that accompanies their internal policies and legislated requirements. Each organizational signatory is solely responsible for upholding its commitments under the Code and applicable legislation.
