The request for proposals (RFP) for updating and expanding the landmark 2013 study, RENT LEASE OWN: Understanding the Real Estate Challenges Affecting the Not-for-Profit, Social Purpose and Cultural Sectors, has been released. The deadline for submissions is June 27, 2019, 10 a.m. The deadline for questions is June 19, 4:30 p.m.

Generously supported by the Real Estate Foundation of BC, BC Housing and Vancity, this eight-month study will provide an up to date narrative and data on the real estate situation for non-profits and social enterprises in BC.  This is a significant opportunity for the right consultant to work with the Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative and the Real Estate Institute of BC to further awareness, understanding and action to support the social purpose sector. Real estate affordability is not just a housing issue—it affects social purpose organizations with equal measure, destabilizing programs and services that citizens need and depend on.
