Opportunities Abroad with the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom
/From the High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom comes a pair of opportunities for performing artists and organizations hoping to create connections with the UK.
“Pitch your Piece” Canada@Edinburgh2019
The High Commission of Canada in the United Kingdom, together with the Department of Canadian Heritage, will host a “Pitch Your Piece” Session on Monday, August 19, at the Edinburgh Fringe in Scotland. The aim of the pitch session is to provide opportunities for Canadian theatre, dance and multidisciplinary projects, to pitch their work to international presenters with the view of developing new global partnerships, securing international project support, international representation, touring opportunities, performance engagements, international exposure and premieres.
Twelve successful applicants, who are ready for exposure in the international market, will be selected to pitch.

New Conversations
British Council, the High Commission of Canada in the UK and Farnham Maltings are inviting applications to the second round of their jointly funded New Conversations programme.
Theatre and dance organizations in the UK and Canada are invited to apply for up to £5,000 ($8,700 CDN) for ambitious research and development projects that offer the first steps towards collaboration. Artists and artist-led collectives can apply in partnership with an organization and cross-art form collaborations are welcomed.
New Conversations aims to increase cultural exchanges between the UK and Canada, allowing for more artist mobility and international opportunities, with a goal of initiating long term partnerships that benefit both the UK and Canadian arts sectors. Initially a two-year pilot the first round saw £62,300 invested in nine new creative partnerships.
