SPRE Seeks Consultant to Expand Real Estate Study
/The following information is excerpted from a communication issued by SPRE.
The Social Purpose Real Estate Collaborative (SPRE) in partnership with the Real Estate Institute of BC (REIBC), are seeking a consultant to assist in updating/expanding the landmark 2013 study RENT LEASE OWN: Understanding the Real Estate Challenges Affecting the Not-for-Profit, Social Purpose and Cultural Sectors.
Generously supported by the Real Estate Foundation of BC, BC Housing, Vancity, CIRES and the Land Economics Society--Vancouver Chapter, this eight-month study will provide an up to date narrative and data on the real estate situation for non-profits and social enterprises in BC. This is a significant opportunity for the right consultant to work with SPRE and REIBC to further awareness, understanding and action to support the social purpose sector. Real estate affordability is not just a housing issue—it affects social purpose organizations with equal measure. SPRE believes that spaces to gather, exchange, work, create, as well as live, are needed to build healthy, inclusive, resilient communities. RENT LEASE OWN provides the research basis for understanding the issues and activating solutions.
