Penticton Arts Committee Seeks Arts Advocate

The City of Penticton's Arts, Creative and Cultural Innovations Committee has recommended city council consider devoting funding to an advocate for art and cultural activities. The proposed position will facilitate collaboration between arts organizations and promote arts, culture and creativity in the city.

According to InfoTel, the committee made the recommendation after reviewing our very own BC Alliance for Arts + Culture website.

City council arts group liaison Councillor Judy Sentes called the recommendation "very thoughtful" and "worth looking into." Mayor Andrew Jakubeit said representatives from the Shatford Centre representatives would make a formal pitch to council soon.
