City of Vancouver Partnership Opportunity for 1847 Main Artist Housing and Production Space

The City of Vancouver has issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to a shortlist of prequalified social housing operators for the operation of 30 units of social housing for low-income, Vancouver-based professional artists and 372 m2 (4,000 sq. ft.) of shared artist production space at 1847 Main Street.

The housing operators have been asked to identify an arts and culture partner within their proposals. The RFP is open to prequalified housing operators only. The arts and culture non-profit would play a key role in both the tenant selection process and the management of the shared artist production space. Full details of the project and the submission requirements are provided in the RFP issued to the housing operators. The closing date for the RFP is September 15, 2017.

Eligibility

To be eligible to partner with a housing operator, the Vancouver-based arts and culture organization must:

• be registered as a non-profit organization (incorporated as a society, co-op, charitable organization or First Nations Band Council) in good standing
• have a history of quality arts and cultural programming and space operation in Vancouver

The City invites interested arts and cultural non-profit organizations to indicate their interest. Organizations will be reviewed for eligibility and then shared with pre-qualified housing operators for their consideration. The housing operators may choose to contact organizations that have indicated an interest to discuss a potential partnership.

If your organization is interested and eligible, please indicate your interest by 4:00 pmon August 18, 2017.

The City cannot guarantee that interested arts and culture organizations will be contacted about a potential partnership. It is possible that some of the prequalified housing operators may already have identified an arts and culture non-profit partner.
