CBC/Radio-Canada Seeks New President/CEO and Board Members
/CBC/Radio-Canada, Canada's national public broadcaster, has issued a call for a part-time chairperson, part-time members for the board of directors, and a new president. All applications are due at 11:59 EST (that's Eastern time; watch out, West Coasters!) on their respective deadline dates:
- President of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Deadline: August 15)
- Part-time Chairperson the CBC/Radio-Canada Board of Directors (Deadline: July 11)
- Part-time Directors to the CBC/Radio-Canada Board of Directors (Deadline: July 18)
The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, recently announced a new independent advisory committee to lead the selection process for the appointments and make recommendations of qualified candidates to the Minister. This independent, non-partisan committee is made up of experts in broadcasting and digital technology, representatives of cultural sectors from across Canada, Indigenous Peoples, official-language communities and youth.
CBC/Radio-Canada specifically seeks representatives who will reflect Canada’s diversity and promote gender equality across the leadership of federal institutions.
