Registration Open for On the Road: Touring & Training Workshop

As part of its Aspiring & Emerging Artists Touring & Training Initiative, the BC Touring Council will host On the Road: Touring & Training Workshop. The workshop takes place February 2 and 3 at Coast Inn of the North, 770 Brunswick St. in Prince George.

This workshop is geared to young, aspiring emerging artists interested in enhancing their touring knowledge. For the purposes of this workshop aspiring and emerging artists are those ages 18 to 34. Ideally, participants would have some touring experience, although it is not required. The workshop will cover subjects such as preparing promo materials, negotiating fees, smart routing, and hiring an agent.

Participants are invited to register to participate in five-minute Pitch or Perform sessions at the workshop. You will receive verbal, constructive feedback from our group of trainers. Often featured at industry events, pitch or performs offer a unique opportunity to promote shows/performances to potential presenters (buyers). They are also a great way to break into new touring markets.
