Survey of Professional Dancers in Canada

Hill Strategies Research is conducting a survey for the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC) to better understand the working situation, career and transition needs of dancers across the country. Professional dancers are invited to participate in the survey before the June 30 deadline.

The data will also help DTRC identify key changes in the situation of dancers, based on similar surveys conducted by the Dancer Transition Resource Centre in 2004 and 1995.

DTRC will use the aggregate results of the survey to continue to assist dancers in their career development and transitions. The survey should take about 10-15 minutes to complete.

Included in the survey are questions about your dance and demographic information, your professional dance performance activities in 2015, your income, your views on career development and transitions, as well as whether you are a member of the DTRC. Note that you need not be a DTRC member to participate in the survey. All five sections of the survey are important to get a comprehensive picture of the situation of dancers.

As a small perk for completing the survey, DTRC is giving away an iPad mini and a dancewear item of your choice from AinslieWear Dancewear to two participants who submit their responses before June 30.

The detailed information provided in this survey will be kept confidential and will only be shared with others in aggregated form so that no specific information from any respondent will be identifiable. Any comments provided may be cited but will not be attributed directly to respondents. If you choose to enter the prize draw at the end of the survey, only Hill Strategies Research will have access to the identifying information that you would provide.

A report on the aggregate results of the survey will be made available to the public.
