Registration Open for GVPTA's 2016 Making a Scene Conference

The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance (GVPTA) hosts the annual MAKING A SCENE conference, an opportunity for the local theatre community to come together to engage with issues that most deeply affect us.

The 2016 conference will be held on May 5, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at VanDusen Botanical Garden (5251 Oak Street) in Vancouver.

Now in its 17th year, MAKING A SCENE is essential to building and maintaining a community that fosters support, understanding and a common goal of strengthening the local theatre industry. Through presentations, working sessions and plenty of opportunity for social gathering, the day-long conference offers attendees the chance to delve into discussions with colleagues, friends and new acquaintances, all of whom are passionate about theatre.

The theme of the day will be “Great Expectations.” Working together, theatre company members and individual theatre artists will assess the current state of the theatre in the region and, most importantly, make plans for a stronger future.

More information and conference registration are online at gvpta.ca/conference.
