Call for Nominations for Carver Award for Emerging Writers
/Nominate an emerging writer in the Kootenay/Boundary region for the 4th Annual Carver Award, presented by the Nelson and District Arts Council and the Elephant Mountain Literary Festival.
The award, which comes with a $500 prize, will be presented at Elephant Mountain Literary Festival's 100-Mile Gala in Nelson on July 7, 2016.
The Nelson and District Arts Council founded the emerging writer award in honour of its former board member Richard Carver, a lover of the arts and the Kootenays, who passed away in 2009. Richard believed in creative endeavour for its own sake—with the process more important than the outcome. He was also generous with his encouragement.
