Nominations Open for BC Community Achievement Awards
/The BC Community Achievement Awards celebrate British Columbians who go above and beyond in their dedication and service to others and who devote time and energy to making their communities more caring, dynamic, beautiful, healthy, and unique. The awards are presented by the BC Achievement Foundation, a foundation established in 2003 by the province of BC to celebrate excellence in community service, enterprise, arts and humanities. Nominations are now open to the public and will remain so until January 20, 2017.
Nominations Criteria
Nominations are submitted online here and should include:
1.) Three letters: (maximum 500 words each)
• A letter from the nominator detailing the contributions of the nominee and reasons for the nomination.
• Two letters of support / reference letters from other individuals or organizations that describe the value and impact of the contributions of the nominee.
2.) Brief biographical outline of the nominee as it relates to the nomination.
3.) Optional: up to five pages of additional material about your nominee (this can include letters, awards, newspaper clippings, etc.)
Any current or former long-term resident of British Columbia is eligible for nomination. Federal or provincial elected representatives are not eligible for nominations while they hold office. Posthumous nominations will not be accepted, nor will self-nominations.
Nominations will remain confidential between the nominator and the awards program. Nominees are notified only if they are selected for an award.
