Kickstart Your Career at Art at Work Symposium
/On January 31, 2016 Richmond Art Gallery, Richmond Public Art Program and CARFAC BC will present a full day of working artists, curators and art specialists providing tips on professional practices for visual artists.
All artists and arts professionals are invited to take advantage of the opportunity to network and learn. The event aims to:
- provide artists with practical, inspiring and career-enhancing programming;
- support the growth and development of the arts and culture sector in Richmond; and
- encourage networking and sharing within the arts and culture community.

Panel Discussion: Making a Living as an Artist
Professional artists share their knowledge and experiences on developing art world networks, establishing a productive studio practice, promoting your work, and planning for exhibitions, commissions or residencies. Followed by a breakout session with panelists.

Panel Discussion: From Proposal to Exhibition—Approaching Galleries to Show Your Work
Art professionals from various types of art galleries will share their knowledge of how to prepare for an exhibition application, how to network, and what to expect when working with galleries. Followed by breakout session with panelists.

Tour & Reception at the Richmond Art Gallery
RAG Director Rachel Rosenfield Lafo leads a tour of the Peter Aspell exhibition, followed by a reception for Symposium participants.

Registration Fees: $50 for RAGA or CARFAC Members / $75 non-members. Pre-registration is required; fee includes lunch.
