New Provincial Key Events Calendar for Event Planners
/Event planners - have you ever scheduled a major event, only to find that attendance is affected by a competing event at the same time? Our tool for event planners has undergone updates to serve those across the province, and we welcome your feedback.
We've relaunched our Key Events Calendar with listings of major cultural dates and significant community events and activities in regions across British Columbia to help event coordinators plan optimal dates for their events in the coming 12 months.
While the Alliance has issued a Key Events List for the Metro Vancouver area for several years, the addition of other regions is new and we invite your input to help keep this tool current and valuable.
The calendar provides dates of arts, culture and heritage conferences, festivals, gala fundraisers, and major event openings. Since road closures can affect attendance at events, the calendar also includes events like races and parades that can block streets or cause delays. We also provide a Provincial and National Events calendar of holidays and special observances such as Black History Month, Freedom to Read Week, and International Dance Day.
Please note that the calendar not intended to be a comprehensive listing of all events and activities across communities, therefore not all events are included. It is provided as a service for event planners, not to promote events. If you're a member of the Alliance and would like to promote your upcoming events, visit our Member News page to learn how.
The calendar consists of 18 sub-calendars as follows:
- Provincial & National Key Events
- Cariboo Chilcotin
- Central Coast
- Central Vancouver Island
- East Kootenay
- Fraser Valley
- Gulf Islands
- Haida Gwaii
- Metro Vancouver
- Metro Victoria / Southern Vancouver Island
- North Coast
- Northern BC
- Northern Vancouver Island
- Peace Liard
- Sea to Sky
- Sunshine Coast

Calendars can be toggled to view all regions or select ones. Events whose dates have yet to be confirmed are listed below the calendar. Updates are made twice monthly.
This is a work in progress and is continually undergoing updates. If you know of a major cultural event in your region that should be listed, let us know via the feedback form button on the Key Events Calendar page.
