A New Minister of Community, Sport, and Cultural Development

Premier Christy Clark made a surprise cabinet shuffle Thursday, July 30, with significant changes for ministers.

Peter Fassbender takes over from Coralee Oakes as British Columbia's Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, as well as being named Minister Responsible for Translink. The new Deputy Minister is Jacquie Dawes. 

Oakes is now Minister of Small Business, Red-Tape Reduction and Minister Responsible for the Liquor Distribution Branch. Other changes include Mike Bernier's appointment as Minister of Education, and Naomi Yamamoto as Minister of State for Emergency Preparedness.
