Port Moody Arts Centre Appoints New Executive Director

The Port Moody Arts Centre Society is pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Torrence as Executive Director, effective July 2, 2015.

Stephen is an award-winning theatre director and production designer with more than ten years’ experience in bringing innovative theatre to stages across the Lower Mainland.  He is a lifelong supporter of the arts in all its forms, and believes strongly in the power of artistic expression to transform lives and build communities. As a dynamic senior executive with comprehensive experience in not-for-profit management, strategic planning, financial management, community collaboration and program design, delivery and evaluation, Stephen has enjoyed a 35-year career guiding organizations to achieve their goals. He is a founding partner of JTJ Consulting Inc., a successful management consulting firm offering expert guidance in all areas of project management and organizational development. Stephen is an accomplished educator, mentor, and public speaker, and an active community volunteer. His household includes his wife, Karen, also an arts enthusiast, a tabby cat and an English Cocker spaniel. He is the proud parent of four grown children.

The Port Moody Arts Centre is a not-for-profit community arts centre located in the heart of Old Port Moody. We offer more than 300 art and music programs to all ages, a variety of special events, and gallery exhibitions throughout the year.
