Residents Lead The Way To A More Connected, Creative Future in Vancouver’s West End

After a very successful (and lively!) first community consultation last month, attended by some 100 residents, WE Arts will hold its second of three community events on April 19th from 1pm to 4pm at the Empire Landmark Hotel on Robson Street.

Creative exploration and dialogue will focus on priorities identified by previous participants, invite new ideas and further define recommendations for the West End Arts Plan - a vital document expressing the community’s visions for expanded arts programming and facilities throughout the West End. As one of the city’s most densely populated neighbourhoods, the West End stands to benefit greatly from the social connectivity and economic opportunities made possible through an enhanced arts scene.

Funded by the City of Vancouver’s Community and Neighbourhood Arts Development grant program, these public consultations provide West End residents with the opportunity to define their cultural priorities for their neighbourhood in order to help shape the future of the West End as it undergoes increasing development.

WE Arts invites all residents (including youth and business professionals) to attend this free event. Join the growing and passionate chorus of voices shaping the cultural future of the West End. This invitation extends to all attendees who made the first event such a success.
