"On the Move" Professional Development Event for Emerging Dance Artists

Get the edge on your professional dance career by signing up for on the MOVE Vancouver, a free professional development event for graduating students and emerging dance artists of all genres, presented by the Dancer Transition Resource Centre (DTRC). Dancers are welcomed into the professional community with lively panels, workshops and networking activities. 

Event takes place February 27, 2015 at the Scotiabank Dance Centre in Vancouver.

Building Resilience for Dance Performance — How do you thrive under pressure? Learn Performance Psychology strategies for a happy, healthy and successful dance career. A workshop with Kirsten Barnes.

Contracts 101 — Over your career, you may work with many different dance companies or collaborators. How will you negotiate these jobs? Learn how to navigate the business aspects of dance. CADA West can guide you through essentials such as fees, contracts, standards, grants, licenses and more. A workshop with Jessica Wadsworth of CADA West.

Meet Your Mentors: An interdisciplinary panel discussion — What is a typical day like for a professional dancer? How do you get started and maintain momentum? Hear the answers from a diverse group of artists with distinct career paths.
