Kootenay Learning Session for Non-Profits on New Societies Act

Get the information your organization needs to make the transition to the new Societies Act at a learning session in Castlegar, October 27.

The BC Society Act provides the rules for governance and incorporation of non-profits and this legislation is set for important changes. In this workshop, lawyer and legal expert Martha Rans of Law for Non Profits will provide an overview of the new Societies Act and will explain the bylaw and policy changes required for your organization to make the transition when the new Act is proclaimed. It will also include a questions and answer period with Martha.

This learning session is geared toward senior leadership and board members in the social service sector and is also inclusive to representatives from all sectors.

The session will be followed by access to a FREE legal clinic at lawfornonprofits.ca. This pro-bono advice clinic with legal experts will enable participants to receive further advice specific to their organization.
