Vancouver Island Regional Library Offers Free Space To Culture Days Participants
/Four branches of the Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) are inviting artists and arts groups to apply for free space to present their Culture Days activity during the weekend of September 26, 27 and 28.
Culture Days is a collaborative coast-to-coast-to-coast movement designed to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities.
Culture Days events feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes” and to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work.
Vancouver Island-based artists and arts organizations wishing to present a Culture Days activity at a local library can apply now to BC Culture Days for use of space at one of the participating VIRL branches: Campbell River; Nanaimo (Wellington Branch); Parksville; and Port Alberni.
Available rooms vary in capacity from 10 to 100 participants.
Culture Days @ the Vancouver Island Regional Library, administered by BC Culture Days, cannot provide any financial assistance for supplies or equipment, but Culture Days will provide participants with marketing, promotion and administrative support.
Online applications for use of a VIRL room for your BC Culture Days event can be made here.
Deadline: August 8 Extended to August 25, 2014
