Province Announces $804,000 in Funding For Arts Spaces
/The Ministry of Community, Sport and Cultural Development announced today 41 recipients of infrastructure grants through the BC Creative Spaces program.
The program, which provides $804,000 in funding, will help arts and cultural organizations in communities across the province develop new spaces, improve existing facilities, and purchase or upgrade specialized equipment.
"Arts and culture organizations add vitality and expression to community life," said Minister Coralee Oakes in a statement. "Arts infrastructure funding will enable great local organizations and First Nations communities to expand, renovate and improve their creative spaces. These practical investments will help British Columbia’s vibrant cultural life continue to flourish.”
The Alliance is pleased to be among the recipients of BC Creative Spaces funding. The grant of $10,500 will be used to make improvements to the Alliance workshop and meeting spaces, which are available to the general public, and to Alliance members at special rates.
