Call for Applications: OneLove Mentorship Program
/Applications are now being accepted from youth aged 13-25 for the OneLove Mentorship Program 2014: Mental Health and Art Therapy.
The program, whose theme changes annually, is presented by ArtQuake, a Vancouver based youth-led, youth-driven non-profit focused on cultivating social change through art.
The 2014 OneLove Mentorship program provides up to 40 youth with the opportunity to explore mental health, stigmatization, and art therapy through artistic expression in four streams:
- Comic art
- Ceramics
- Film
- Dance
Each stream is facilitated by an experienced artist who teaches artistic technique while offering safe and inclusive space for the youth to connect and heal.
Projects created during the program will be presented at ArtQuake's annual OneLove Festival in August 2014. The festival provides youth the platform to showcase their artistic expressions related to mental health and unites the community in dialogue about the various challenges related to mental health in Vancouver.
The mentorship program is open to youth aged 13-25. Applications are welcome from those with lived experience, those supporting loved ones with lived experience, and those who are passionate about exploring the topics further. Accessibility is important: those with specific needs that need to be met in order to participate should indicate this in your application. The program is free (only a deposit is required).
Application Deadline: April 21, 2014
