BC Arts Council Announces Community Consultations & Program Review
/In 2014/15 the BC Arts Council is conducting a review of its Operating Assistance and Special Projects programs (Innovations and Capacity and Sustainability) through research and consultation with the arts and culture community and other stakeholders, and you're invited to participate in the review process.
The BC Arts Council is undertaking the review in order to evaluate and improve grant programs and processes, improve the predictability of planning and budgetary cycles, and ensure that funding streams and programs will be appropriate to the needs of the community in the future.
Council wants to understand what community members and stakeholders believe are the developing directions that the arts and culture sector is heading, and how Council can best assist artists, their organizations and communities to get there. Their meeting goals are to develop a deeper understanding of the arts community’s evolving needs and to identify areas for improvement and development.
During the consultation phase, community meetings will take place in several B.C. communities to gather input in relation to the three programs under review. Whether you have had direct involvement with any of these programs or not, they welcome your thoughts, as the review process may also have implications for other program areas.
In addition, Council will provide an online feedback form as of September 30 to receive your input. Details and a link will be issued shortly.
