Alliance Adopts Province-Wide Mandate

It’s official! The Greater Vancouver Alliance for Arts and Culture Society is now the British Columbia Alliance for Arts and Culture Society. We will continue to operate simply as your “Alliance for Arts and Culture”.

After two years of consultation and review, the changes to our name and constitution were adopted by the Alliance’s membership at our AGM in June, and officially approved by BC Registry Services in August. The expanded mandate reflects the current scope of the Alliance’s impact as a voice for arts and culture across the province.

For more than 25 years, your Alliance has taken great pride in providing valued services which have grown to include group health benefits and RSP programs, professional development workshops, and the many benefits of the Member Advantage Program. We are advocates on topics critical to the cultural sector, and our Arts Summit has become a catalyst for the advancement of public cultural policy.

Our ongoing work has increasingly involved issues of importance to artists and organizations throughout the province. Members are joining our ranks from across British Columbia, wishing to participate more fully in the Alliance.
