VPL Offers Free Space To Culture Days Organizers
/Six branches of the Vancouver Public Library (VPL) are making free spaces available to event organizers who have a great idea for BC Culture Days but no venue for their activity.
Culture Days is a collaborative coast-to-coast-to-coast movement designed to raise the awareness, accessibility, participation and engagement of Canadians in the arts and cultural life of their communities. Culture Days events feature free, hands-on, interactive activities that invite the public to participate “behind the scenes” and to discover the world of artists, creators, historians, architects, curators, and designers at work.
Vancouver-based artists and arts organizations wishing to present a Culture Days activity at a local library can apply now to BC Culture Days for use of space at one of the participating VPL branches: Champlain Heights; Hastings; Kitsilano; Mount Pleasant; Oakridge; and Renfrew. Available rooms vary in capacity from 30 to 50 participants.
Culture Days @ the Vancouver Public Library, administered by BC Culture Days, cannot provide any financial assistance for supplies or equipment, but Culture Days will provide participants with marketing, promotion and administrative support.
Online applications for use of a VPL room for your BC Culture Days event can be made here.
