Hi there! We are Friends of Winter, a custom framing studio located in Point Grey Village near UBC. We specialize in fine art framing and shadow box design. We are looking to hire promising new candidates to join our team in 2025!

Job Description:
Skill in custom framing is accumulated through careful practice and observation. You will start as an assistant, helping our framers with a variety of everyday tasks. Demonstrations and written materials (guides, instructions, etc) will be provided to you regularly over the course of your initial training.
The length of your initial training will vary depending on your level of interest in the practice and your availability. Most people complete their initial training as an assistant in around 3-6 months.
You will be compensated for your work at an hourly rate.
Those who complete their initial training as an assistant and become a framer will be eligible to earn sales commissions if they meet the qualifications needed to run successful framing consultations with our clients.
Responsibilities:
This position requires that you:
* can perform fine work with your hands and (occasionally) lift up to 50 lbs.
* pay close attention to detail and maintain a high degree of quality control when it comes to assembling framing orders.
* have great written and verbal communication skills.
* have basic computer skills.
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who:
* has an education in art history, fine art, and design.
* has relevant experience in sales and customer service.
* has worked in a retail setting for more than 3 years.
* preferably has experience working with luxury brands or in a gallery setting.
* preferably has experience in interior design and/or graphic design.

* possess the relevant creative and sales skillsets.
* be self-sufficient, inquisitive and motivated.
