O.Dela Arts is a non-profit arts organization currently based in Vancouver, BC, on unceded Coast Salish Territory. Job Description:
We are seeking a passionate early career Social Media and Marketing Assistant to work with our team to elevate the online presence of our Matriarchs Uprising Festival this coming February 2025. The 7-week part time contract runs from January 13-February 28, 2025 with weekly team meetings (online) and in-person festival attendance week of February 17-22, 2025. Fee is $1500. There is potential for this role to continue as an ongoing position with O.Dela Arts. Preference will be given to persons of Indigenous ancestry (s. 16(1) CHRA)
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Festival Coordinator and company Managing Artistic Director, the Assistant will create a social media to engage with the community, share updates about the festival, and encourage dialogue and interaction. Weekly posts for Facebook and Instagram will be created and scheduled/posted by the Assistant including cross-posting to other sites and accounts that are connected to the Festival artists and mandate. Working remotely, the Assistant will meet with the festival team every week of the contract and provide updates to the project. During festival week, the Assistant will work with the Festival Coordinator to amplify marketing of daily events and can ideally be on-site (The Dance Centre, Vancouver, BC) in support of the festival.
Qualifications:
We are seeking an individual who has previous experience in social media marketing including creation of posts and scheduling for Facebook and Instagram, ideally for arts and culture or Indigenous-lead projects and organizations. As this is an early-career position, we are excited to offer the Assistant support in understanding our marketing values and the ways we hope to connect with community through these platforms. Reliable internet access is a requirement.
