New Program Details & Last Chance For Early Bird Registration For Actsafe Event Safety Conference

Actsafe, the service organization that partners with BC's entertainment industries to keep workers safe, has announced more details about its Event Safety Conference program. Rick Antonsen, author and former CEO of Tourism Vancouver, will be the keynote speaker at the February 20 event. Register by December 11 to take advantage of early bird rates.

Everyone from event production suppliers, festivals, theatres and roundhouses, to municipal workers, education providers, and labour unions are invited to attend to network and learn from one another.

CONFERENCE

The Actsafe Event Safety Conference hopes to encourage important connections between everyone who provides support to the live event industry. 

The event begins on Monday, February 20, with a welcome dinner and keynote, and continues with a program of 90 minute sessions on Tuesday, February 21, including workshops, demos, panel discussions, and roundtable talks featuring:

  • Medical planning for festivals
  • Firearm use in live theatre
  • Minimizing fatigue and promoting alertness
  • Site setup for live events
  • Fundamentals of Risk Assessment
  • Tradeshow
  • And more!

Additional programming details will be announced daily throughout December. 

The conference takes place at the Delta Burnaby Hotel and Conference Centre in Burnaby, BC. 

SESSION PROPOSALS

Have an idea for a workshop, panel discussion, roundtable talk, or a demo? Proposals for conference presentations are still being accepted. 

Submissions are online with a deadline of December 31, 2016.

TRADESHOW
