The Rosario Ancer Flamenco Arts Society (Flamenco Rosario) is an organization devoted to supporting the creative vision of its Artistic Director, Rosario Ancer to bring high-quality flamenco performances to the public, develop greater audiences for flamenco, provide opportunities for members of the public to learn about flamenco and increase cross-cultural understanding and cooperation through the arts.

Job Description:

The organization is seeking a Business Manager who will represent and speak on behalf of Flamenco Rosario as required and requested by the Artistic Director. Reporting to the Artistic Director, the Business Manager will be accountable for the coordination and execution of all administrative duties required to ensure smooth business operations and effective resource development and will assist in the delivery of productions and all programs of Flamenco Rosario, including the Vancouver International Flamenco Festival.

This is a full-time salaried position of a maximum of 32 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Grant writing/Reporting
• Researches grant possibilities, (Public and Foundation), maintains grant calendar
• Maintains relationships with funding officers
• Writes Grants, and ensures all needed support materials are ready in time for deadlines (CADAC, Support Letters, Media, etc.).
• Identifies needed statistics and works in conjunction with the Administrator to ensure the collection and maintenance of such data.
• Writes final reports, and ensures these are delivered to ensure future eligibility

Fundraising
• Works with Artistic Director and Board of Directors to identify development and fundraising possibilities.
• Works to develop tools, (information packages, letter templates, etc.) to carry out development and fundraising activities in conjunction with the Administrator and Board/Executive stakeholders.
• Identifies and maintains relationships with potential donors and supporting organizations
• Works with the Artistic Director to organize VIP lists, invitations and receptions as appropriate to Flamenco Rosario Programming

Budgeting
Works with the Artistic Director to develop annual, periodic and project budgets.
Works in connection with the bookkeeper on the preparation and delivery of the end-of-year financial paperwork to our accountant/auditor

Board Relations
Attends board meetings and strategic planning sessions. Attend and plan the AGM. Works in conjunction with the Administrator and Artistic Director to support board initiatives such as the annual fundraiser, volunteer management and other projects as needed.

Programming
• Works with Artistic Director to identify performance, touring and other programming opportunities
• Works with the Artistic Director to identify, initiate & maintain community relationships and partnerships
• Negotiates fees and agreements between organizations in conjunction with the Artistic Director
• Oversees tour and performance logistics in conjunction with the Administrator or contracted staff
• Develops and maintains partnerships among organizations in support of programming
• Ensures deadline-sensitive reporting such as annual society report and financial reviews are carried out before the deadline, either directly or under the oversight of the Administrator

Other duties from time to time may be required and it is expected that the Administrator will:
Demonstrate initiative and follow through on assignments or ideas with a strong customer service approach, be punctual and precise in executing duties, contribute to the creation of a user-friendly environment for the benefit of patrons, members and office staff; work as required with committee members and volunteers.

Qualifications:

• Management experience essential, preferably within the arts or non-profit world. Knowledge of the dance milieu is an asset, but not required.
• Experience with writing and preparing grant applications and reports.

• Ability to build productive relationships with artists, administrative personnel, board members, volunteers, private and public sector funders, political and community leaders and members of the public.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills. English is the organization’s primary working language, but knowledge of Spanish would also be an asset.

• Good working knowledge of budgeting and financial record keeping.

• Ability to design and implement development and marketing strategies.

• Keen interest in dance, especially flamenco and prepared to be fully committed to helping Flamenco Rosario grow and develop.
• Works well under pressure
• Excellent computer skills, organization, diligence and ability to multitask.
• Exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workplace, Adobe Creative Cloud applications, online ticketing systems, MailChimp, and Apple hardware.
