The Lawyers
The following lawyers generously volunteer their time at the ALO.
Martha Rans is the Legal Director of the ALO. She has been practicing law in British Columbia since 1997, and works extensively with arts organizations, not-for-profit societies and visual artists.
Sharon Mah is the clinic coordinator of the ALO. She was called to the Bar in 2008 and currently works in the area of privacy law for the Province of British Columbia. She has been a volunteer at the Alliance since 2006
Andrew Atkins is an entertainment lawyer and partner of Atkins and Company. He acts for recording studios and artists, management companies, film and television producers and distributors.
Kyle Fogden is an entertainment lawyer at Roberts & Stahl, Barristers and Solicitors. His practice focuses on entertainment, intellectual property and corporate litigation. He has expertise in the film, television and music industries.
Robert Galletti practices in the areas of corporate finance and securities law, corporate commercial law, intellectual property and mergers and acquisitions, at Bacchus Corporate and Securities Law. He has acted as counsel to Insight Film Studios and has extensive experience in film financing, television production and music.
Steve McKoen is a partner at Blakes, and practices in the areas of securities, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations and corporate governance. He has been active in the arts community both in Vancouver and New York, where he was a volunteer for Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts New York.
David Wotherspoon is an intellectual property litigator and partner at Fasken Martineau LLP. He has extensive expertise in trademarks litigation and arbitration, technology disputes, and business transactions. His experience in the arts includes involvement with the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design, Capilano College and the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada.
