Job Information
The Contemporary Art Gallery (CAG) is Vancouver’s only independent public art gallery dedicated to research, exhibition, documentation and education about contemporary art as it is practiced locally, nationally and internationally. With a mandate focused on emerging Vancouver artists, the CAG has a long record of artistic achievement and sound management.
The CAG is seeking a creative and enthusiastic individual to oversee all aspects of fundraising. Reporting to the Executive Director and working collaboratively with other staff and volunteers, this newly formed position will be responsible for implementing, leading and managing a diversified fundraising plan. She/he will create and manage a program for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing and prospective individual, business, foundation, and other major donors. The Development Officer will craft and execute development strategies, campaigns, and proposals for partnerships, sponsorships, annual giving, planned giving and social networking opportunities. The Development Officer will anticipate changing needs and contribute strategically to the overall mission of the organization, and will engage with the Board of Directors and other volunteers in meeting the fundraising goals of the CAG.
The successful candidate must have a demonstrated record of accomplishment in guiding institutional strategy and in soliciting and securing major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government sources. He/she will have excellent communication skills and be skilled in cultivating and managing relationships. The Development Officer will possess strong organizational and data management skills as well an ability to handle a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously and they will be a hands-on, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual with a strong work ethic.
Requirements:
* University degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
* Demonstrated success in all aspects of fundraising, including special events;
* Proven ability to analyze, plan, initiate, and complete projects in a timely manner;
* Strong computer literacy including MS Office and fundraising software;
* a solid knowledge of arts and culture community;
* CFRE designation will be an asset.
