HST & NON PROFITS WORKSHOP -- FEBRUARY 9, 2010

The Harmonized Sales Tax and Non-Profit Organizations

Due to high demand, a second date has been added for the Alliance’s workshop on HST and Non-Profit Organizations.
The second workshop will be held on:
  • Tuesday, February 9 (SOLD OUT)
    2 pm to 5 pm
The workshop will be held at ArtStarts In Schools, at 808 Richards Street (at Robson).
Presented by Darren Taylor, a senior manager with Grant Thornton LLP, the workshop will cover:
  • HST introduction.
  • Typical GST/HST exempt / taxable supplies.
  • Transitional rules.
  • Registration requirements / remittance of tax / filing returns.
  • BC point of sale rebates.
  • Other HST implementation issues.
The final portion of the workshop will feature a roundtable discussion among participants, facilitated by Tickets Tonight’s Paul Sontz, reviewing the arts communities options for handling the HST in a consistent sector-wide manner.
This is an important session for administrators, marketing directors and box office mangers.
Registration for the workshop is $50 for Alliance members and $75 for non-members.
Advance registration and pre-payment are required for all Alliance workshops.

Twenty-four hours cancellation notice is required to obtain a full refund.
